Textual analysis on T1 and T2.
T1
1. Sarah Conner in T1 is shown riding a moped, with a pink backpack. Furthermore, at her work place she is shown wearing a pink dress, as she delivers meals to the customers. Very feminine.
2. When Conner is getting ready to go out with her friends, she is using a hairdryer and makeup - a typical representation of a woman, thus reinforcing the fact that she is a very generic female construct in this film.
3. "Am i tough? Organised? I can't even balance my checkbook!" - an interesting quote as, in the second film she becomes very tough. Towards the end of the film she becomes more tough, saying to Reece "On your feet soldier!".
4. Finally, at the end of the film, Connor has almost transformed as she wears glasses, carrying a gun by her side. She has become a string female character.
T2
1. Connor is first shown doing pull-ups in her cell, something associated with men, as men work out etc. Not only this but she is quite muscular for a woman.
2. She is a violent character, brutally beating down a guard, completly contradicting her character in the first film, and most female constructs. Even in up to date female action films, women don't swear or take out a foe in that manner.
3. In one section of the film, when they are gathering weapons, Connor is dressed in a complete military outfit, with glasses, smoking, carrying a gun. This obviously is something more masculine, and she is never really objectified in either film to be honest.
